A destination wedding is an amazing way to celebrate your union with your loved ones for more than just one night. Instead, you can turn your wedding into a multi-day celebration with your family and friends. You can spend more quality time with your guests and create a truly unforgettable experience, oftentimes for less than the average cost of a stateside wedding. But remember: although it might be less expensive for you, it's a major investment for your guests, so...no pity party if quite a few people can't commit.

Since you're getting multiple days with your guests, you can plan some extra fun activities beyond just a rehearsal dinner. We went whale watching, and then had a night out on the town with our guests. It was incredible! Keep in mind: destination wedding etiquette is a bit different, because your guests have invested a lot to celebrate you! This means no one should be left out. Your guests should know at every moment just how grateful you are for their attendance! Everyone should be invited to every event, including the rehearsal dinner, but activities outside of the wedding and rehearsal dinner should always be optional. Your guests have invested a lot of time and money, so it's a vacation for them! "You do you, boo!" is the name of the DW game.

Planning a wedding from another country and communicating with people who oftentimes speak a different language can be challenging! We can help with a lot with this, as we'll be your advocates, but we can't change "island time," and trust us...it's a thing. Communication can take a long time, as destination weddings have become extremely popular. Sometimes things get lost in translation, and not everything comes out perfectly, but you and your guests won't remember much of that...just the unforgettable experience! 
PRO TIP: Planning doesn't usually start until about a couple months before the big day. If you're an extremely visual person (like Taylor), start a vision board early so you can share it with your wedding coordinator. Be prepared at the first meeting to ask all the questions you have about decor and to request measurements/pictures of past weddings.
